Welcome to
the Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the Society for
Human Resource Management

The Northwest Louisiana Chapter is an affiliate
chapter of the
Society for Human Resource
Management (SHRM), the world’s largest
professional associations devoted solely to the Human
Resources profession. Our chapter’s hundred members
represent employers in the northwest parishes of
Louisiana including Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Desoto and
the east Texas country of Harrison and Panola.
Local chapter membership, in conjunction with national
SHRM membership, provides the well-rounded HR
professional with extensive networking, programming and
learning opportunities. The chapter hosts monthly
meetings to educate our members on current and vital HR
concerns. There is an annual workshop, where industry
leaders and HR professional share their knowledge and
proven practices with members and the community.
Student chapters from Louisiana State University –
Shreveport and Wiley Colley – Marshall, Texas are
sponsored by our chapter. We encourage and foster future
leaders in HR by awarding a scholarship to a deserving
student in the Human Resources profession. To inspire
continued growth in the HR profession, the chapter
provides significant financial support to the SHRM
Foundation with is the research and growth arm of our
profession.
Our chapter is supported by a fantastic group of
volunteer board members that strive to advance the
profession and support the HR professional. Those
interested in joining should review the bylaws for
eligibility and submit an application if consideration.
Whether you are a veteran HR professional or just
entering the field, we welcome you and invite you to
become a member of our organization.
